just shaking my head , how are you going to remake a song thats already been remade ? he doesn't really have a audience anymore, or need the money so doing something to attempt to appeal to the masses serves no purpose ..

i hate seeing someone who made legenedary mixes in the 90's go out like this.

He did with Cafe Del Mar as well, both are terrible yeah.

Oakenfold can still release a solid tune every now and then though. Turn It On single from last year showed he still has that nice combination of commercial sound with the Goa roots.

I think that one sounds pretty good. Another one I like recently is "Glow in the Dark":

Yes they are terrible, but these are nice. I doubt he is going to earn any significant amount of money on this.

He's doing it to relive his glory years, rehashing the music from back when he was still popular.

It shouldn't be called Toca Me (or a remix).

Regarding Open Your Eyes, like someone commented: "Needs the vocal. Badly"

Does anyone have the release date for when his remix of Tranceport is coming out? I'm assuming that'll be up next.

No shit! He's been rehashing himself continuously for the last decade, slipping safely into utter irrelevance along the way.

On the production front, the only good things he ever made were a few old Perfecto remixes with Steve Osbourne. This one in particular stands out as probably the world's only 2-step-meets-goa vocal anthem:

Well, I think that comes mainly down to personal taste. I am a big fan of "Not Over Yet" (w/ remixes) Planet Perfecto - "Bullet in the Gun" and the Gabriel & Dresden remix of "Southern Sun" is one of my favorites.

Not really. I know it's cool to bash the old guy, but he's done a little more than a few singles in the mid 90's, you know.

Also, the group Grace weren't remixes. Sure he did remixes of the tracks thereafter but certainly Not over yet was an original production etc.

He also made about 25 singles in the 00's which maybe not quite of the caliber, included a couple of top 10 hits and a international no.1 (starry eyed surprise) which is more than most of his peers have ever been able to achieve.

I personally think his heart hasn't been in for a while but it's quite ignorant to understate his achievements or productions.
