i mean, you can always just end up working at a hostel somewhere like the flying pig, they tend not to ask questions
other than that, i'm pretty sure that for any foreigners outside the EU, companies are really looking for people in high-tech industries

As far as I know, unless you're marrying a dutch citizen, you HAVE to learn dutch before you permantely move to the Netherlands. Talk to Jenn (magikb) on TOTA if you're interested in moving there. I know she plans on moving to Holland sometime in the near future, so she would be able to tell you how to go about it. |
im not sure how it's really SUPPOSED to be done haha
but i just moved here, for at least seven months, hopefully a lot longer
i think the key is to have an employer who's willing to sponsor you and help you set up your work permits and everything. once you get your work contract, you're made in the shade! i set up housing / banking / phone and everything else on my own, no problem (don't worry, almost anyone that will help you with any of this will speak some english ). no visas or anything are required, you just have to report yourself to the town hall and tell them what you do for a living (mostly just a thing for census kinda stuff)
i'm not sure how or if any of this changes if you're talking PERMANENT permanent lol, 100% official, but i guess i'll let you know how my little adventure turns out
and i dont speak a word of dutch
