[various] My take on ...

While I was listening to a bunch of old CD's I thought it would be nice to make some mixes, each representing one of the EDM genres I have been listening to in the past 15 or so years. I'll update this thread whenever I have a new one ready (which might take a while).

To start off (this being TA and all), epic trance. Warning: do not enter in case of supersawphobia.

quote:
epic trance

01. Plastic Boy - Silver bath
02. Firewall - Sincere (Pulser remix)
03. Ferry Corsten - Star traveller (Hydroid remix)
04. Fictivision vs. Phynn - Escape (Phynn remix)
05. System F - Reaching your soul
06. Will Holland vs. Activa - Amnesia (John O'Callaghan remix)
07. Inertia - The system (Jon O'Bir remix)
08. John O'Callaghan & Kearney - Restricted motion (Airbase remix)
09. Andy Blueman - Nyctalopia (club mix)

01. 3 Steps Ahead - Drop it
02. Lenny Dee - The dreamer
03. DJ Delirium - I was born hardcore
04. Masoko Solo - Pessa pessa (Buzzy goes BZRK remix)
05. DJ Sim - Loud as fuck (54321 mix)
06. Buzz Fuzz - Frequencies
07. Chosen Few - Name of the DJ
08. Turbolenza - I am the creator
09. The Stunned Guys - Beats time
10. Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirl (Just a dream remix)
11. Pino d'Ambini - Up & Down (Ballz) (Buzzy goes BZRK remix)
12. Neophyte - Execute
13. Juggernaut - Got 2 B a ruffneck

I'll give this a try. Well known tracks of course, but why not reach for the lasers once in a while.

hey basd, ive had a listen of this, i dont think epic trance is what describes this. i found it to be more uplifting trance rather than 'epic'

as for track selection, some nice tunes in there but im afraid it all sounds the same to me, very airy and generic, however that last track you dropped was quite a gudden

i wouldnt say i didnt like but it wasnt what i was expecting!

I didn't even know there was a difference between those two genre tags.. Sorry if it confused people. On the other hand, the track listing should speak for itself.

Thanks for listening though.

I agree it might sound samey, but the focus of these mixes isn't really on structure, more like recapitulating the various genres I've been listening to over the past 15+ years by picking out some highlights and putting them in a somewhat listenable mix.

Hey look, another one. Hardcore this time, looking back on the first few years I went to clubs and festivals. Relatively short mix, just over 45 minutes. Some decent mixing, some less decent mixing as well.

01. 3 Steps Ahead - Drop it
02. Lenny Dee - The dreamer
03. DJ Delirium - I was born hardcore
04. Masoko Solo - Pessa pessa (Buzzy goes BZRK remix)
05. DJ Sim - Loud as fuck (54321 mix)
06. Buzz Fuzz - Frequencies
07. Chosen Few - Name of the DJ
08. Turbolenza - I am the creator
09. The Stunned Guys - Beats time
10. Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirl (Just a dream remix)
11. Pino d'Ambini - Up & Down (Ballz) (Buzzy goes BZRK remix)
12. Neophyte - Execute

Got some annoying neighbours? Your poodle being humped by the neighbourhood bulldog? Look no further!

What genre?
Oh, and DLing the Hardcore one. I rarely see stuff like that here, and it can be fun at times.
