Between insurance premiums, co-pays, and payments on myriad medical bills, my wife and I spent 50% (or more) of our income on "healthcare," and because of lung damage from chemotherapy, she is in a higher risk category. We're not on the poverty line, technically, but we're on the "cannot afford another fucking bill/premium increase" line, for sure.
