There's always a reason. Nobody would sacrifice his life for nothing. The talibans' brainwashed religious views were very opposed to the western way of living, and they only waited for an excuse to attack. They were at peace with the US only because of financial reasons, or to be more precise, US was to build a large oil pipeline through Afghanistan. However the US decided not to go on with the works because of unstable situation. I guess that gave Bin Laden an excuse to attack. I might be wrong, though.

Over 2 million of people died because of starvation in North Korea. They were offered financial aid and were only asked to opene up to the rest of the world in return, but KJI refused to do so. Not to mention that most of the NK budget is dedicated to military. If they had cut down their military budget just a small amount, they'd have enough food to stop the death of those people. They didn't, though. This only shows your lack of knowledge in the matter, and how american news are selectively putting up stories in order to create false images of reality in people. |

expect gas to become $5 a gallon.
does anyone remember in the 70s about the rations of gasoline we had (in america)? My dad told me that the US was trying to spread out gasoline equally and thus there was a maximum of $5 of gas to each car. Think we are heading in that direction? |

No ... the reasons for that were because there was an OPEC embargo on the US at the time. It had catastrophic effects on the world economy and probably hurt OPEC more than it hurt the US. At any rate a lesson was learned and it's very unlikely that that will happen again. |
