well, i just beat .hack so i started in immediately on xenosaga. let me just say, this game ing kicks ass.
id say its more like an interactive sci-fi space opera of sorts, than a full fledged game. it bears a similar likeness to the second half of xenogears... but is better. the graphics are BEAUTIFUL, and usually you dont even notice that youve just watched a 35 minute animation/movie. the music is very similar to xenogears which kicks ass. the battle system is as well.
the plot so far is very interesting, and the game has completely sucked me in. i recommend any of you rpg lovers to go buy it, and if you havent played xenogears, play it because its one of the best games ever. |

I've had this game since release day in the US and I got a sweet ass art book along with it :D. The PS2 finally gets a true RPG, FFX. This game is EXCELLENT, and as said already...if you're an RPG fan, GET THIS GAME NOW!
Sothis, where are you at in the game? I'm at the Encephalon: Militia part right now. This game is soo good, it was worth the 6 year wait. |

| im not too far. just got rescued from the ship being taken over by the gnosis. i had my parents buy .hack and xenosaga for me for my bday, so i had to wait to get both of them till they were mailed. i also have a rule about not playing a game till ive beaten the previous one im playing.. so yea. beat .hack sunday morning, started in on xenosaga sunday night! i got the art book as well. |

How is .hack? I think the next RPG I'm going to buy will be Dark Cloud 2. Heh, I wish I could stick to your rule about finishing a game before starting another.
Right now I'm playing Morrowind: Tribunal, Metriod Prime, The Getaway, Xenosaga, Shenmue II and I have yet to finish up Kingdom Hearts or FFX (even though I'm at practically the final boss in each game). I got Timesplitters 2 for Christmas and I haven't even really bothered playing that yet. I'm probably going to finish up Xenosaga within the next few weeks then I'll start on another game. |

Well, I'm only at the first major boss right now...that big plant thing that you have to hit the mirrors and stuff. Fairly good game so far...I have a few gripes about the control but I'm getting used to it. Right now though my attention is fully on Xenosaga...this game is just :eek: :nervous: :eyespop: |

yea, its a rule that i mostly stick with. i enforced that rule 2 or 3 years ago, when i realized most of my was not completed. (and i hate being 75% done with a game, but i have to go back and finish it 100% again later). so i set that rule in stone before chrono cross/legend of mana/etc came out.
i broke it when i got .hack because i had been playing arc the lad 2, but it was boring me anyways.
.hack is really great, but very, very short. i took my time, and beat it in 15 hours. then again, its a 4 part series, and once you beat the final boss, any items, weapons, exp, etc that you get, you can bring to the next game with your save file. its an excellent game tho. they simulate a mmorpg WONDERFULLY... very unusual and interesting premise, and just fun all the way around.
i recommend getting it. tho if you dont have a lot of cash, id wait till its a bit cheaper so you feel better about it being such a short game. |

| sothis thanks for posting about .hack and xenosaga. I'm interested in buying them both especially .hack. I was looking through the Xenosaga strategy guide the other day at EB and it looks like a lot of the fighting is more without the gear? I enjoyed Xenogears. |
