The music to the second zone of sonic 2 is unquestionably banging. |
Most of the music in the sonic games was good. Theres a trance tune in the ice cap zone in sonic 3. And its not that bad for a 1993 tune. |

Nobody has even mentioned Secret Of Mana! Man, that soundtrack brings back memories!
Zelda soundtracks, from A Link to the past till The Wind Waker are pure class too (i'm not counting the NES releases as the quality sucks)
For now, I think Halo has a very, very nice score. |

wipeout XL had a great soundtrack, which eventually built upon the "who is this" artists like Prodigy, Future Sound of London, Photon. It really brought me into EDM. Wipeout 3 was great too. Playing with Avenue or Xpander on Rapier is too much SENSORY OVERLOAD.
I like the intro song for Wild Arms |

Fallout series.
KOTOR was a recent one.
Neverwinter Nights
Shining Force 1 (maybe 2)
Streets of Rage (haha...I've seen a post on that somewhere here)
Alice (definitely)
Quake (original, NIN all the way)
Midnight Club 2 is good. |

^^ I loved Parasite Eve, it really should have gotten more recognition. Can't remember any of the music, so I'll take your word for it (hey, its Square, when have they ever ed up a soundtrack?).
FF 7 and 8 had the best music, 9 was a bit weak at times (though I love that sleepless city treno). 10's music was kind of minimal, but that was intentional, I beleive, to fit in with the dubs.
Chrono Trigger/Cross had the best music, CC especially. Yasunori Mitsuda is brilliant. I loved the home world map theme, when I first played the game and the old CT theme kicked in, it was such a wonderful dose of nostalgia :D
Besides RPG's... hmm. The Halo soundtrack can't be beat. Hell, just about everything in that game can't be beat. Half Life deserves mention, even though there isn't a lot of music in it, the tracks that are rock.
Can't really think of a lot more besides the usual suspects of RPG's. |

| It's a peculiar choice, but I'll mention Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. ;) Also, I loved a lot of the music in Final Fantasy X. It's a pity that X-2 tried to go for a trendier soundtrack, though the theme is gorgeous. |

Reznor is on the case to do the sounds for Doom III as well. However instead of having a looped composition, the music is to react to your progress and situation in the game, bit like when you went off a massive jump in SSX and it applied a resonance filter to the music. Should be interesting to see what he and Id come up with this time. |
