heres the lowdown on Heartbreaker

it was supposed to be @ an empty 403 skatepark. The tenants(the skatepark) went broke, but the landowners decided that they could still use the building as a venue..at about triple the original cost(crappy deal eh)
so then yesterday AM the fire marshall goes to inspect the venue to make sure it complies with the bylaw. They arrive to find that the locks have been cut, and the fire alarm removed. No fire alarm = no venue. sounds awfully fishy eh? not really. In the end what happened(or seems to have happened) is that 403 had gone bankrupt, and when the alarm company stopped being payed and had their services cancelled, they came back to get their alarm. Reposess style. You know, the alarms are free as long as you sign a 3 year monitoring contract, well stop paying, they come take it back. So pete wont admit it, but the party looks like its gonna be cancelled, one last ditch attempt(seeing as any 'rave' ish venue needs to be approved, losing on the day of, in effect cancels the event)
Peter talks to Chris(special agent, owner of the warehouse) and chris agrees to let the warehouse be used as a venue(YOU ARE A GODSEND CHRIS) but that cant happen until 3 am because before then its a bar that plays industrial on Sat. So 3 am rolls around, bla bla lineup get inside to see Fat Tyler playing some good music, then onto Richie V playin tha hard trance, both of these guys did a great job, solid mixes track selection etc.
then its 4:45.
the little German Man with dreads 1/2 the size of him comes on and the place roars. For a crowd the size it was(probly about 500) it was a loud crowd. Coming out of Richie V he plays really trancy. Uplifitng trance. WHAT! THIS IS SCOT PROJECT! THE PIONEER OF HARDSTYLE. oh wait, 3 songs later is hard like . Bang bang bang bang bang. Sound system was great as per warehouse standards, lights incl. extra lazer looked good. I felt high just from the strobe/intellibeams. Crowd was LOVIN it, he played good and hard, and made me(and im sure most of the ppl) forget that the night got off to a ty start. WELL WORTH THE WAIT FROM CANADA DAY 2002. I talked to him for a bit, and he seems to remember me e-mailing overdose back then, and him writing me back. He might be going to miami, so thats cool, ill def go see him again.
hes done @ 6:20 and ends with overdrive, sadly no encore, and even worse, he didnt play somebody. hella lots of brand new CDR scot project productions and remixes. The beach boys track WICKED, song after hands up AMAZING. just such a hard bass line, I think im bruised. Scot project remix of Rock da funky beats, SOLID.

Peter(serotonin) comes after Scot, and i originally was worried, pete plays mostly epic, and well epic after this wouldnt go. but I dunno where, pete played bangin, a good follow up IMO, did a good job minus the one trainwreck(this is the first I have ever heard from him, so ya..really surprised me) Then on with Zero Grav and Haze, and they were playing well, but thats when I left.

The crowd was good, but definetly weak pills, you can tell when the crowd starts to get not so high. At the same time, it was still full when Tony closed I guess(ask him, I went home @ 7:30)

now for the bad stuff. It was supposed to be a 3 room party. that got changed to 2 rooms. Form and Koas and Montanan and Rez all got the boot from the lineup/asked not to play or something like that. Which is really a pity. Form and Koas would go off on this city, and I know it. The city is lovin that style of music, but the only turntablists we have are for Hip hop, and disoriental, but hes tooo good.(Calgary DMC champ 2000, 2001, he wasnt allowed in the 2002 comp)
so FORM KOAS, I bet you guys read this, COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!
I know petes not throwing a party for a while, but honestly, talk to Chris(special agent) about coming out. You guys would go well on a Friday night @ horizon.

so all in all the night went from an expect 10/10 to an expect 5/10 when venue changed to ending up with a 9/10.

was it worth it to miss Tall Paul?
I will never know.

i was super tired up until i started playing, that's when the adrenaline took over

it was better than any drug i've ever had :)

and what can i say about scot project...
i would've been going off hardcore if i didn't have to close the night
