it's all about the locals.

I just wanna talk about how much talent the locals have in oz. From house to uplifting trance to drum n bass to techno to breaks to prog to psy we have it all. these guys and gals are world class and everyone should slam down their $5 to $15 to support these guys and in some casses they play for free. umpteenth times the lcoal tear the shreads of the int's and deserve respect alot more than everyone gives them.

next time when a tiesto or dave seaman comes to town and u throw $60 to $90 down the ter think about the talent we have here Right here Right now! because if you dont support these guys all you will ever see is the fine imported crap that comes from overseas.

I agree :) I have quite varied tastes (mostly like trance) but on most nights can quite easily listen to DnB, House, Trance, Tek, Prog or Breaks. About the only thing I can't 'tolerate' for any substantial period of time is HipHop, sorry it just does nothing but frustrate and piss me off

I have had some great nights listening to DnB at Scubar in Lonsdale St and some nice Breaks at The Lounge in Swanston St. Some smooth minimal electro has also been heard at Troika in Lt Collins (I think).

Props to ALL the Melb DJs :)

Agreed.

Except I'm still gonna throw my $60-$90 down the ter to see the likes of Dave Seaman. Just cause most int's are also awsome! :D

I agree. I think the only difference is the record selection. Im of the opinion that any clowns can get two beats to play at the same time if they practice long and hard enough. However they wont have the same selection of records as an international has.

Yep, agreed. Melbourne's techno DJs are the equal of anything I've heard, and Sean Quinn can throw down some world-class prog sets (pity he doesn't do it often enough... Summadayze and TT2002 were excellent tho).
