Guys,

Having just moved to London with the intention of starting a career in the music industry (my longterm goal being to start my own label) I'm a little bit stumpted as to where I should apply for work.

I intend to visit all the labels i can in person and volunteer my services on a temporary basis, as I have no experience in the field.

Some of you guys probably have some great ideas & suggestions for me so please help cos this place is a serious rat race!

theres loads of labels based in london. what kind of label are you going for?

silverplanet
automatic
platipus
lost language (i think)

+ more that i cant think of right now.. :) just check out loads of label websites... i would say at least 60% wil lhave an office in london if not a studio..

although, most of them will want basic knowledge of studio equiptment and software... so if i were you i would do as Az sez and find a music tech course :) you will need basic knowledge of logic audio, protools, and perhaps some knowledge of hardware. but then again, you'll probably be happy making cups of tea in the platipus studio (i would be!)

good luck!
