So,I bought that Pioneer 116s dvd drive some time ago(no more than a year)and recently, while I was watching a dvd movie it suddenly started to play the movie frame by frame or sth. Then it resumed to normal playback and after a while my pc wasn't responding @all.So, I had to restart it. I had another go with the movie after that re-boot and the same thing happened. After a while(no more than a minute or so) my pc thought it would be better having a pause. But at that time, it suddenly re-booted it self. @ that time I was running Windows 98 SE. I tried viewing some other movie but the cruel pc wouldn't let me . So, after a week or so I had a format and installed WinXp Proffesional hoping there was a chance the problem would be solved.Nothin':sadgreen: It wouldn't read audio-cds,dvds,Game-cds, nothing @all.It would just keep spinning the cd in the drive but with no result. I tried to clean the laser lens by using a Cd-Cleaner. I let the drive spin the disc for quite a long time and at some point the application of the disc ran.The first thing I did was to ran the cd-cleaning proccess. After A while my pc paused. Arse! I tried to re-run the program by having for a long time the drive spinning the disc ,the application ran.But then The same happened. AAfter that It was already late @ night(I did let the drive spin that cd for some hours:stongue: )and got bored of the whole thing.
so, any suggestions?:(
The o/s recognised the drive and had no problems finding drivers 4 it.
