Acid Jazz:
Tiene un nombre muy extraño, pues no es ni "acid" ni "jazzy". Aqui está la definición del "Allmusicguide":
The music played by a generation raised on jazz as well as funk and hip-hop, Acid Jazz used elements of all three; its existence as a percussion-heavy, primarily live music placed it closer to jazz and Afro-Cuban than any other dance style, but its insistence on keeping the groove allied it with funk, hip-hop, and dance music. The term itself first appeared in 1988 as both an American record label and the title of an English compilation series that reissued jazz-funk music from the '70s, called "rare groove" by the Brits during a major mid-'80s resurgence. A variety of acid jazz artists emerged during the late '80s and early '90s: live bands such as , James Taylor Quartet, the Brand New Heavies, Groove Collective, Galliano, and Jamiroquai, as well as studio projects like Palm Skin Productions, Mondo Grosso, Outside, and United Future Organization.

Chill-out:

Chillout/Lounge

Characteristics
Chillout tends to be used as a generic term to describe music that conjures up visual images. Much of it is down-tempo or moody but this tends to be up to the producer to define his or her vision of Chillout. The recent commercial success of Chillout has further complicated the characterisation of the genre with many tunes from the past making it into this category. A typical commercial chillout CD may have Ennio Morricone sitting alongside Groove Armada or Massive Attack giving way to Jean Michel-Jarre such is the diversity of popular taste.

Chillout/Lounge Labels
Few labels are strictly

History and Description
Chillout music has its roots deeply embedded in the Ambient world. As artists like Pink Floyd, Jean Michel-Jarre and Enya emerged with their mood-inspired songs and slow beats, the Chillout era began to dawn. With electronic music now a way of life in the early 80s, artists like Depeche Mode and labels like Mute had started producing a melee of moody sweeping overlays which became the inspiration for a new generation. But it wasn't until the early 90s when the Ballearic island of Ibiza became famed for its club culture and nightlife that bars like the infamous Café Del Mar and Café Mambo inspired a generation of clubbers and artists alike. In 1994, the React label (www.react.co.uk) released the first globally recognised CD to try and capture these after-hours bars with their down-tempo vibes. The Café Del Mar series has since become legendary and is still an annual release although the React name was replaced by the Manifesto label from Volume 5.

While Café Del Mar was widely regarded as the benchmark for Chillout CDs, the range of music on the series has diversified since early releases and the more recent CDs are less electronic and more commercial in their wider range of appeal. Although not solely responsible for widening the genre, this has gone some way to muddying the waters. Many still see Chillout as an electronic based genre and regard the commercial guitar-oriented tunes as "down tempo". There can be little argument about artists like Enigma fitting the "classic" chillout mould. The music of Michael Cretu, the man behind the name, conjures up images and moods hitherto un-explored in musical terms. Chillout is here to stay.. it's now just a question of definition.

Pero entonces, ¿que estás buscando? :conf: :p

Me comprendes?
