Last nite at The Rock, Bristol.

The Rock reached over its capacity last nite. Wonderful nite that was. First of all, I arrived at 9:30 at the door and there were 2 queues of about 500 people outside. The 3rd queue was reserved for VIP ticket holders and was empty. I went in there wih my 2 friends and the guy at the door told me "u have tickets?" i showed him some piece of paper in my hand he said go on.. hehe i jumped the queue.
Well, I came in and Lisa Pin-up was just getting off the decks..with erotic dancers on stage. Our magnificent residents Dan Pearce and The Saint take up the decks until 12. Then the projector screens show "Paul Conroy" comin up. now he was e. This guy should be shot in the head. He plays good choons but plays mainly hard house.. and the e type.
Well anyway its good he didnt last for 10 hours and at 1:30.. the crowd including me go wild as they announce Fergie coming on the decks. What a bomb.. and to top it off.. he started with some WICKED remix of 'Castles in The Sky' which I neva heard before. He rocked the house for 2 hours. All that time me and my friend were on the very front row by the stage in front of the DJ booth. And towards the end we felt like getting attention hehe so started calling "Fergie!" everytime a climax would arrive and music fades down a bit.. but he wouldnt answer. So we said we'll call him together.. "1...2...3!" "FEERGIIEE!"
haha he looks down at us and laffs.. and we make a gesture with our fingers meaning "ur number 1" hehe so what he did... he left the booth and came over and shook our hands. even though he's a great DJ, he doesnt get involved with the crowd much really. he plays those choons and our residents Dan Pearce and the Saint are standing next to him jumping up and down and pointing to him to motivate the crowd. but i tell u with his set, the crowd doesnt need motivation. damn.. it was wicked. He also played some great great remix of Star 69.. very pumin.. its not on the vinyl though.. coz I have that vinyl and its not on either. or maybe it was a bootleg.
Then the residents took the decks for one hour before the nite ends. and to be honest, whomever is DJing, no one is betta than them. hehe. ever since they changed Nick Warren, I said they ed up the club. But these guys.. hehe they're hilarious. When they put a wicked tune, even they get so much into it and get out of the booth onto main stage and start jumping up and down together throwing their arms in the air like.. hehe dunno they dance really funny. aaahh.. it was a lovely nite.
Now I know ur gonna ask me a question: Were's Tiesto??
Well, I find out later in that nite that he has apparently been on the decks from 8 to 9. What a ing idiot. who would take the decks at 8.. infront of what? 500 people?!! and after what tu_face said about his performance on Saturday at GC, I was thinkin that this weekend Tiesto ain't feelin great so his set here at The Rock prolly sucked even more.
well, it was massive. and the last nite out for me until i finish exams. I got many flyers on the way out with some wicked lineups at different venues in England in June, so we're on for a feast once exams are over. I shall scan some and post em later..
