Were you in Barcelona too mate? So was I :) Those Barca fans are the worst I've ever seen. They couldn't chant to save their lives and their stadium was half empty.
Were you in that Irish pub at the bottom of La Rambla when the mackems got beaten 3-0? It was mental in there :D
Also, did you see Juan Carlos (king of Spain) leaving his hotel in La Rambla? There was a big crowd of locals and then loads of geordies joined in and started chanting Toon Army and "we are the geordies" to him. It was funny as ! :D
I agree on the price of Promise, they need to either cut the price or lengthen the night. £10 to see mediocre DJs for only 6 hours is pretty expensive and when they bring good DJs they hike it up to £15! Don't get me wrong it's a mint club but they need to get themselves sorted out regarding this 4am nonsense. |

....also did u spot 3 lads wearing Real Madrid Shirts with 'FIGO, 10' on the back? cos i was one of them....big lankey ****** singing about figo...etc if u were there or there abouts in the square or near the ground u must have spotted us causing mayham and general drunkeness
did u stay out for the match on wed? we managed to change the flights for nowt...other 3 mates had to miss wed cos they went back with official trip...gutter for them...cannot wait till milan

Aye I saw lads wearing Real Madrid tops with Figo on, I saw quite a few actually but one of them could have been you.
We arrived back at London Luton airport wearing black and white sombreros and it was like zero degrees :D
Those prostitutes in La Rambla are bloody agressive! We were in the gothic quarter where all those little meditteranean sidestreets were. Drug dealers everywhere there the atmosphere was class.
I wasn't at the square before the match but I was down the road at an Irish pub getting tanked up. You should have been there the night before when the mackems were beaten 3-0 live, all the Irish pubs were full of geordies, after the match everyone poured out onto the streets it was mental.
Did you get let into the ground on the Tuesday? I did, but only a few hundred others got in. The s already knew the match was off, they just wanted us to stand around and buy their food. They wouldn't let us out either. We just stood outside in the pouring rain chanting to a postponed game.
That was my first ever away game, but I've got the bug, I have to do it again. I've been checking out flights to Milan, if you leave from London Luton with Ryanair (it's actually cheaper than Stansted) on March the 11th at around 12 noon it only costs £12.50 and the flight back on the Thursday is only £6.99 so you can go from Luton for under 20 quid return. I'm considering it like if I have any money nearer the time. The only problem is getting to London, but I know you can get a coach for £30 return. Milan should be a bit more interesting than Barcelona cos we'll have all the AC fans on our side chanting in the streets, wheras in Barca everyone's just a Barca supporter cos it's the only good team.
Wherabouts were you in the ground? We were sitting right above the entrance where they let you in, near the front. You know how the fans were divided into four sections, well we were the one second nearest to the scoreboard. The section nearest the Barca fans was loudest though, they chanted non stop for like 4 hours. I want one of those inflatable Newcastle Brown bottles they're mint (do you know where I could get one?). Were you near the guy who was shouting "he's so hard he needs a towel" and calling this Barca fan "towel man" because he wiped the water of his seat with a towel? Hundreds of us were pointing at him laughing in our section cos he had a towel to wipe his seat. The Barca fans were at chanting. It was canny funny at the end when that kid ran into the Barca section to get the inflatable Newcastle Brown Ale bottle and everyone started chanting "your supposed to be at school" :D |

if u get the lastest copy of the Mag fanzine theres a picture of us in there, the 'Figo' fan club....its mental...on the back page...
we were in tuesday....got chased buy bizzies on horses for trying to take a shortcut to the away end...via some hotel thing...had massive arguments with the stewards outside the ground aswell...we were lucky not to get arested
i think we were siting just along from u in the ground on wed...the front row of the away section...beneath the scoreboard i think. .not quite sure cos i was mortal....i rembember the songs about the towls...and that...best was ground no fans or wet pitch fans....
me mate belted a footy at the barca fans below us behind the goal...3 sections down afta sholas goal (from right up the top where we were sitting) it was well funny...i got arrested for chucking a plastic glass down at the home fans after barca went 2-1 up..i got taken down the back of the stands by 4 riot police...but i got let off cos i didnt have my passport....and got 2 see rest of match...dunno how though....we caused ,and got away with so much on that trip it was class....
milan we will have to be a bit more behaved cos there plod are nutters |
