Ok, many people go on and on about how the Gamecube is the weakest of the 3 consoles. Up until today I would have partly agreed. Xbox was showing its power the most...and then I saw the-just-announced Resident Evil 4 game, exclusive to Gamecube.
Now, this is in complete real-time. For those that don't know what that means; thats how the game WILL look when you play. Like THAT, and much better, because honestly, that picture doesn't do it justice. But its the only screen they have, plus a video. In the video, you could see that the game is just oooooozing with an amazing physics engine. Curtains flow in the gust of wind like they should, incredible.
So yeah, so much for Gamecube not being able to hold its own. Heheh, not only that, but Capcom also showed off a couple of other Gamecube-exclusives. Killer 7, some dark, twisted anime type game, and PNo3, which looks like a cyber-Devil May Cry type of game. Eat that Xbox!! |

I only hate Nintendo cause they sold Rare, and they business strategies are stupid. But other than that, the Gamecube is a waaaay better system than Xbox, game-wise, and is way more powerful than the PS2 (not that the PS2 is weak, cuz its hardly that). People look that the Gamecube has a 400mhz processor and automatically assume that its weaker than the Xbox. Fact of the matter is, is that the processor that Gamecube has is equal to an 800mhz Pentium 3 processor.
And yes, Metroid Prime WILL own......actually, it does own. I just read the review of it on IGN. Overall score; 9.8/10. Got higher than Halo :) |

Gamecube makes kiddie games. Why the hell would I want to play a game with some donkey or Luigi running around trying to pop balloons with some coins or stars?
PS2. Grand Theft Auto Vice City. Enough said. |

Gamecube is definately a lot more powerful than most people think.. it handles lighting so very very well.. dynamic lighting especially...
Yeah.. I read that review too... i preordered it right away!

that's the arguement everyone makes against nintendo.. and frankly, i think it's crap.. i mean to me it's not about what kind of theme a game has... it's more about how fun it is... a game can have kiddie influences and still be damn fun... super smash.. super mario sunshine.. super monkey ball... it's all good... |

yah selling Rare was retarded i think, but i wouldnt say their business strategies are stupid. they are the only console maker from the 8bit days that still even HAS a vaible business model that hasnt had to resort to arcade games or software alone in order to succeed.
as for the kiddie games thing, people *really* want to believe this. if a game looks cartoony in the least, it must be for 4 year olds. the thing is, the gameplay is what sells these games, GTA can be an exception, but no one ever played Conkers Bad Fur Day on n64, which should have been a cheesy kids platformer and came out, vile, vulgar and excellent - Feck off crows!
i would buy a gamecube before the in xbox. cause its made to play games, not to be an overpriced outdated pseudo-computer. late| |

LMAO! Typical uninformed answer... PS2 has many "kiddie" games for it as well, so stop thinking that PS2 is a console for "mature" people. Secondly, nobody is forcing anyone to play "kiddie" games on the Gamecube. Why don't you do a little research on the games of the system before saying anything? Here's a list off the top of my head of games that are meant for older people; Eternal Darkness (psychological thriller), Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 0, and, in case you happend to miss my first post; Resident Evil 4, P. No3, and Killer 7. And just like Choobak said, in the end, it boils down to the quality of the game. Although I do follow your interest in games a bit more BeatFreak, there are some great "kiddie" games as well, and Gamecube certainly isn't a host to ONLY kiddie games.
Oh, and just so you know, I love the PS2, this wasn't a bash against it, cuz it's got many great games as well (like, Vice City), but don't make half-assed arguements that are hardly true.
Oh ya, one more thing; That Dave Mirra biking game, with the nude chicks and all, has been censored on PS2, but not on Gamecube.....very kiddy indeed.

As RE4 showed, it handles A LOT of things very well :)
Since you've read the review there, I assume you have IGN Insider? You ever go to their boards?

See, thats why I think their bus. strategies are really stupid, and in a lot of ways backwards. They claimed that Rare wasn't pulling in enough cash during the past 2 years, and that they were investing a lot more than they should into the company, so they sold them. Whats stupid about this, is that Rare's profits were so slow simply because they didn't release anything. Perfect Dark and Conker's BFD were released on the N64 towards the end of it's lifecycle, and Conker wasn't really marketed well. Plus, after Nintendo sold Rare, many owners of Gamecube yelled "I'm selling my Cube and getting an Xbox!!"...and it's been about a month since this happend, and Nintendo still hasn't done anything to keep the fanbase *sigh* But off the topic of Nintendo...
...Conkers Bad Fur Day is one of the best games I've ever played. It's soooo funny, I love it's humour..."Conker honey, fancy a bounce?" LMAO!! The professor at the beginning of the game was the funniest...hahah...and the game had such a depth of gameplay to backup its humour, that it really was one of the best games out. I never felt like I've "been there, done that" when playing this game... |

| I have to laugh @ the XBox having problems playing games ported from PS2. Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and Silent Hill 2 both have MAJOR slowdown problems :stongue: "The all powerful Xbox" |
