Commercial raves

i only been to summer love last year and that was enough for me.
in another thread it was said that avb is gonna play at twisted next april, i think im just gonna go there for armin's set and leave after. the only reason i would go to a rave
as for the dance scene in van, at the moment, i think its alright. we get lots of house and prog djs but also some nice trance once in a while, makes me happy :) would be great if the scene grew more popular for the music, we need more dance lovers in the city. you guys are right, its not the propoters, i think they would bring big name djs if only there was a big enough demand. they know that they can make more money bringing nelly rather than ferry. cant blame them.
and every saturday, i praise xfm for having veolocity on, attracts more ppl to the scene.
hopefully, in the future, things will get better. i'll be keeping my fingers crossed

I don't have a problem with the crowd. These poeple support these parties. If it wasn't people we wouldn't have as many parties. And I don't understand why people get intimidated by these people. Older people party too and that is cool with. Young kids, well I am 23 and I went to my first party when I was 15. So I don't really have a problem with them either. I just ignore the people and listen to the music.

The older guys who try to pick up young girls, sure that is a problem but that has always happened and will always happen. It sucks but what can you do.

As for promoters, I feel that they put on partys to entertain people as well as make money. They can't be picky on who shows up to the party, their objective is to fill the place. I don't blame them when the have close to if not more than 100 grand on the line.

i prefer seeing a DJ in a club, Timo Maas and Deep Dish at Sonar was a blast, under $20 each too. i like the people and the vibe better.

the bigeest prolem is massive raves in vancouver cost $50 a ticket, while in every other city, all legal raves are $25

every other city in north america allows clubs and parties to run till whenever they plese...so there are legal afterhours that bring in huge dj's all the time...

in adddition, theplaza\twisted mcraves have a terrible clientelle. no offence, but i can't enjoy myself when there re so many ppl there for the wrong reasons.

i went to a underground/sorta rave on the 26th..i was wicked, except some guys show up and start a big fight so it its busted at 5 am.....

i dunno, but if the city allowed legal afterhours clubs, then al of us 19-30 year olds(the masisve rave scen from the late 90's) will be able to party again...untill the its small clubs that close at 2:30...
and mcrvaes that book ty dj's and ar ful of 40 year old asians and 25 year old kiddies

in montreal, clubs dont get busy till 3 am....they close at 9...and have hugeheadlining dj's at a reasonable cover....

thats all....for now.
