dj phu
Thats why i would never go to the plaza.

With absolutlty, positively, no distrespect for Johan(one of my all time top 3 favs)he is not the smoothest mixer.

I would never ask Masterplan for there services.

Spooky 7 was an awesome party... period.

Sound could have been louder,,, damn city by-law :whip:

Those of you that didn't come to the party missed out,,, plain and simple. I got to meet Johan Gilen and he was pretty cool,,, got 2 of my recs. signed. I don't know why you guys that bitch and conmplain about Plaza parties,,, take it or leave. That was easily the best party I've been to in 2002.

peace.

All in all I'd say obviously the party had it's ups and downs.. the sound obviously a let down, but overall there seemed to be a good atmosphere. It's not every day that azim books good trance on his line-ups that's for sure, he usually goes the caner route.

Johan was great.. his mixing may have not been the tightest at times but playing good music made up for it and I didn't notice anything that made me cringe.. pretty good guy, haha.. he was acting all choked at one point and going on to me about the left turntable/ channel was all ed up and how he was going to stop playing in 15 minutes and that he was a professional dj and azim should have a professional setup.. pretty funny, i was drunk at the time, thought that was ridiculous and I was all 'ahhhh.. whatever it's fine come on man.. just in' give'er!!' haha.. he snapped out of it, realized he was being ridiculous, laughed and played the rest of his set having fun and didn't complain once. Johan's pretty agreeable overall.. told him to play a certain record and he threw it on within 10 minutes of me asking.. any time someone came up to get him to sign stuff or take a picture he always did it right away. Only thing I was disappointed with was that he escaped back to his hotel an hour after his set and didn't go crazy with us.. but that happens fairly often these days with a lot of djs. Obviously you can't go full tilt every gig you play..

Other than that.. I didn't really want to catch lock n' load as I was scared I might be subject to caning and parping possibly.. (you never can be too careful) however Cinto and DJ Huey each played some sweet tracks in the breaks room. Although irritating as I find Cinto sometimes, it's good to see him doing well and his skill shows without a doubt. Azim opened his set with a refreshingly non-parping change.. house!?!? yep.. opened with the bootleg remix of Thriller that's been going round. Nice one. The theatre was good for Seven & Dave (Prime) Armstrong's set of course but I wouldn't expect any less from those guys. Of course one big drawback was me not playing mainstage again this year heheh.. but Azim has his own logic for picking his line-ups and you gotta make sure that you book the people you are obligated to I guess..

Anyways I'm going to sleep.. hope everyone else was able to find and focus on the good points of the party and have fun like I did.
-Cheers, T.
