| I heard yesterday that David Padilla is going to be at Mercury Lounge in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday the 12th. Anyone else heard this? I think they are going to start bringing in guest dj's because that place is starting to struggle... |

| Yeah, Mercury is still open, and Garfield is still the resident dj there, but I don't know how that place will survive much longer. His music has pretty much gone down the tubes, and the place is less than half full on a Saturday night, but we keep going just because we've gotten so lazy when it comes to going out. We live right around the corner from the club, so it's like a 5 minute drive there, you park right in front, and walk in for free... no hastles. And we're friends with Garfield so we go pretty much just to hang out. But that place has to be losing their ass. Almost everyone gets in free, and for obvious reasons, they don't sell much liquor - just water, so I can't see how they're making a dime. And Garfield isn't even close to the dj he was a year ago. But anyway, I don't mean to bash the place, I guess it's ok if you live in Fort Lauderdale and just want to get out for a few hours, hastle free. |

| I 'll probably head out there to see Padilla he is a nice guy and a good DJ I miss the good old days @ THE MIX afterhours that place was my second home besides I hear from a pretty reliable source david is moving, he has not been able to land a successful gig in Miami since the MiX so he is moving on to greener pastures. Anybody else heading out there ? let me know I am staying local until TIESTO V.I.P. style on the 19th @ SPACE |

Just got this e-mail from DJ Garfield in case anyone's interested...
Hi there
Just thought I would drop you a line to let you know about the huge party this Saturday @ Mercury.
DAVID PADILLA will be spinning alongside myself and as part of the new Saturday music policy he has promised to bring a selection of the anthems from his days @ the Mix in Miami.
Also this Saturday we welcome the cast and crew from the ANTHONY RODRIGUEZ SHOW who will be filming the first episode of their new season @ Mercury and have asked me to ask you to look your funkiest as they are looking for people to star in the first show.
As always with everyone on my mailing list just print out this email and you and a guest get in for free this Saturday (but please get there by midnight)
