After a strong first album release entitled, "Endangered Species," Nickodemus is finally ready to unleash the second solo album, "SUN PEOPLE!" Inspired by the big fireball in the sky & some wonderful people, it features some uplifting dance music from all parts of the World including Guinea, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Romania, India, Turkey, UK & his hometown in Brooklyn, NYC! Some of the original Endangered Species cast is on the album including Jay Rodriguez, Quantic, Hector "Tempo" Alomar & the Candela Allstars, Zeb, Nappy G & Real Live Show. New additions to the signature Nickodemus sound on "Sun People" include Guinean born singer Ismael Kouyate, Indian classical & pop singer Falu, Richard Shepherd of Radio Mundial, Brazilian born singer Liliana of the band Maracatu, the versatile voice of Nuriya, the younger members of Taraf de Haidouks & The New York Gypsy Allstars.
From being a regular DJ in the early days of Giant Step, to running one of NYC's longest running parties called Turntables on the Hudson, Nickodemus has been a steady force on the music scene for over 12 Years. He has travelled the World as a DJ since he's 18 & has been dropping musical productions of his own since 1999 with his cult classics "Cleopatra in New York" & "Mariposa" in 2001. His last album featured "Mi Swing es Tropical" which was not only a Worldwide club anthem but was also featured in the itunes + ipod adverts of the Summer of 2007. He's weighed in heavy with remixes for Billy Holiday, Nina Simone, Thievery Corporation, Sultan Kahn, Omar Faruk Tekliebek, Balkan Beat Box, The Pimps of Joytime & many more... Like his live DJ sets, get ready to go on a musical journey through the World of funky- organic- urban dance music all seen through the eyes of a New York native who consistently makes music without borders for everyone to enjoy!

Late in the year 2000… Two sets of brothers (Grant and Tyler Drygas, Shandy and Jordan Kern) united to form ESCALATE! As an experiment gone frighteningly right, Kern melodies and Drygas rhythms combined to form a force irresistible to human ears, feet and hips alike. A four-piece instrumental outfit, ESCALATE! forsake vocals and lyrics to concentrate on blending and reconfiguring diverse genres spawning a fresh and innovative sound mosaic. Five years later… The release of their debut full-length GROOVES.BEATS.SCIENCE.SOUL. A record as much in the spirit of Air, Out Hud, !!! and Stereolab, as past visionaries The Meters and On The Corner-era Miles Davis, GROOVES.BEATS.SCIENCE.SOUL is a disc with a scope wide enough to delight both party people shaking their moneymakers on the dance floor as well as chilled out beat heads sinking back into a bean bag chair strapped with headphones. Now, in 2009, more focused than ever, the four are once again preparing to head into the studio. Members of ESCALATE! have performed alongside Nathan Larson (Shudder To Think, A Camp, Hot One), Kevin March (Shudder To Think, Guided By Voices, Hot One), Jason Collett, Al P. (MSTRKRFT), The Junction, and Emm Gryner, including an appearance on Gryner's Juno Award nominated album Asianblue. ESCALATE! was the winner of People's Choice Award for the 2004 Brampton Indie Arts Festival. "Doves Don't Cry", track ten from Grooves.Beats.Science.Soul. appeared as the score music for a Greenpeace video. ESCALATE! have been a regular fixture over the last three years at Kensington Market's famed Pedestrian Sundays, receiving significant public acclaim.

Following an extended teaching journey in Europe, Richard Martin aka medicineman staked his tent in the studio of CIUT radio in the heart of downtown Toronto. For the past 9 years, he's hosted NO MAN'S LAND and has earned a reputation among a loyal audience for unique, groove-driven explorations into the evolution of world music & global electronica. Indo-Arabic dub to Afro-Latin funk, sets flow seamlessly from soothing ancient rhythms and textures through rippling primitive & progressive beats, always challenging cultural boundaries and musical traditions. This genre-bending mixology has generated a massive throng of listeners and continues to win fans over the airwaves and on dancefloors. NO MAN'S LAND is considered by many to be the top world fusion radio show in Canada.
Working closely with a number of clubs and promoters on local and international concerts & parties and through consistent work as an educator, radio producer and DJ, he is instrumental in pushing global music forward, and in exposing the international airwaves to the best emerging & established artists in the scene. That was a serious run-on sentence folks.
