There ya go. Plenty fast for basic uses. Includes CPU, integrated audio, video, ethernet, 160GB hard drive, 2GB ram, DVD Drive, and Windows XP home. I have one. It's small, cool, quiet, and barely uses any power at all..perfect for web surfing/music/pics/documents, etc..pretty much everything except heavy gaming. ;)
That one doesn't have a large hard drive though. If they really need 300-400GB you can buy a nice external USB hard drive for $50-ish..
or if you want to build your own system, here is an excellent barebones option: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16856167037
This one is faster with a dual core processor. It's missing an operating system but includes CPU, motherboard, and power supply. You'll need to add Ram, hard drive and CD drive. As for the OS, Linux Mint should be perfect for their needs. It's based on Ubuntu with a few extra features and optimizations. Word processing, music, and web browsing, and chat software is included and very user-friendly.. And of course it costs $0.00
