2010 Vancouver Olympics

It is approaching soon!

Brings up many questions on how this will affect Vancouver during a mass invasion of nearly every country in the world seeking nightlife entertainment.

There are definately the promoters out here to put on shows, but what kind of shows are we expecting to see. More acturately, what DJs. I am sure pretty much every DJ out there knows the olympics are in Vancouver.. question is, who will come?

Will we get DJs that never tour outside europe or you would never see on the NW coast, ever? Will DJs come to spin at clubs just because they are visiting for the olympics? (ie. Above & Beyond span at whistler club secondary to skiing a few days there a few months ago)

Will afterhours clubs be all week? Are there any more opening then Gorg-o-Mish and the basement?

Will the PNE be sold out with multiple headlining DJs till 8 in the morning?

Or are all of my questions just way out of this world?

I sure hope you're on the right track. I'd love to see some DJs who don't normally come to Canada... especially Super8 & Tab for me. But it'd be nice to have some other big guys come back too. I just hope we get SOMETHING because as it stands right now Vancouver isn't that hot. Even Calgary gets it better than us! Hahaha no offence :D

Do more DJs usually come during the Olympics? e.g., for Olympics in other cities, were there more shows? I guess it might be a hard Q to answer but that might give us some clues :) And some hoooooopeee!

My prediction is that we won't necessarily see more names, but the city will allow venues to stay open longer.

I'm actually excited for the Olympics :) Anyone got tickets for the Opening Ceremony and Hockey Gold medal game? I procrastinated on getting my tickets and now I think they are all gone!

I heard Tiesto will be playing at the Opening Ceremony ;)

I put a bid in for a pair of Men's Hockey Gold, but didn't get it. Oh well, saved me $1000 :) .

The first cutoff for ordering tickets was early Nov 2008. The second round of ticket sales, for whatever wasn't sold, started Jun 06, 2009.

Last call for the second round was on July 31st, so that's it.

A guy at work requested $7000 worth of tickets (opening ceremony, men's gold, etc.) and won the majority of it. Too bad he didn't have the money to pay for it.
