In light of recent events, we are informing everyone of our current situation.
We had an all-ages venue reserved in L.A. for a capacity of about 600 kids. However, there have been too many issues with venues recently causing events to be cancelled, moved last minute or even shut down. We want to avoid this at all costs.
We have gotten an overwhelming response about Hard Dance Nation (HDN). Also, based on current ticket sales we might need a venue with a larger capacity. It has been extremely difficult finding a venue for a decent price in the L.A. area that will satisfy our requirements. All we wanted was a secure, bust-free, all-ages venue that can fit about 1,000 kids that does not cost an arm and a leg. We already promised that our door price would not exceed $30.00. Staying in L.A. would have cost much more thus forcing us to consider raising the door price. This was not a viable option, period.
We emailed all of the people who have purchased presale tickets and those who registered for our Shuffle & Jump contest. We asked all of them what their opinions were regarding running at a one-room venue in L.A that might not hold everyone or moving our party to Hudson / Gotham and running two rooms. We were very surprised when 90% of the people who responded strongly suggested that we move to the Hudson / Gotham because this event is focusing on the harder styles of dance music and it would be a shame if it were shut down or if we had to turn people away.
So with that said, we have decided to move our show to the Hudson / Gotham in San Bernardino. We made this decision to make sure the party will run all night at a 100% bust-free, all-ages, larger capacity location with two rooms.
All talent has been confirmed, flights have been paid for, hotels reserved, and all of the artists feel better playing at such a well-known and secure venue. All of us at Hard Dance Nation (HDN) are excited that the DJs will be playing for a solid crowd that will truly respect and support the harder styles of dance music in Southern California. We have hard dance fanatics coming all the way from Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and San Diego to support this first-ever breakthrough event.
We trust that everyone will be happy with our decision and hope you will join us in unity this Saturday, August 8th 2009 for the first-annual Hard Dance Nation (HDN) located at the Hudson / Gotham 295 E. Caroline Street, San Bernardino, CA. 92408.
Much respect,
The Hard Dance Nation Team |
