Speaking to the media at E3 last week, Patrick Soderlund, Senior VP of EA Games Europe, said that the Xbox 360 has been "maxed out," but PlayStation 3 hasn't been.
"I do think that we'll see developers inside the organization getting to understand the PS3 better and I think that we're getting more power out of PS3 right now." Soderlund told OXM U.K. "I think that we've maxed out the 360 but we haven't maxed out the PS3." |
While they are right, this only implies to their own brand of games and not the full potential of the system. Other companies I am sure can still take a lot of advantage of the 360

And then theres the Crytek CEO who said about the PS3

Here, he was implying that Crysis 2, running on the company's new CryEngine 3 would almost max out the PS3's abilities. "There’s not much more you can do," he added, "and frankly the breakthrough was very recent, and otherwise we would’ve had a compromised strategy on the consoles, which we don’t have now. |
Gamasutra
I dont bother to listen to these claims, they were thrown around for the previous gen years before we saw the likes of Okami (PS2) or Resident Evil 4 (GC) really show us what said systems can do. |
