how do you fix a warped record? like the record, i'm guessing, melted and so it took the shape of a "u". (not that extreme, but faintly like a "u" i guess.)

there is a really easy fix for this one. It will cost you about $10-$20 though. Go buy a new record!

Hi all,

Well, this isn't always possible if a record is pretty rare.

What worked for me:

Place your record on a piece of glass with the cone on top. Remove it after say 20 minutes and make sure it's nice and hot. Than quickly place some heavy books and stuff on top of the cone. Make sure you cover the entire record. Leave it for about an hour. Voila: your records is playable again! :)

Bend it with your hands, it takes quite a lot of force before the record breaks.

try putting somethign heavy on top of it and leave it for a couple of days, this wont make it str8, but it will be better...

Tranceformer, what's so funny about that? It just works, and way faster than all the hassle you guys are going through.
I always do it that way, takes two seconds and the record is flat again. And I've never managed to break a record in two (otherwise I wouldn't mention it here).

Seriously, I'm not joking. (/me inserts dead-serious smilie)

Doesn't this effect the sound at all. Wouldn't it like melt the grooves too?

Hi,

Well, it won't get that hot :) Just enough so you can bend the vinyl
