Taylor said this year's series would be more satirical, and would be revamped with segments such as 'What have we learnt from current affairs' and the 'Ad road test' tossed on the scrapheap.

While the crew were refreshed by a break from TV, major news events this year such as World Youth Day, the US election and the Coogee Bay Hotel poo-in-the-gelato scandal at times had the boys licking their lips.

"Both high-end politics and low end haute cuisine, they are things we'd have loved to make fun of," Taylor said.

"We are really excited that there's a new breed of politicians ... we'd used up all our Howard and George Bush jokes.

"Rudd has already proved to be as fertile a subject for satire as Howard ever was, and we're really looking forward to analysing Barack Obama's administration.

"It remains to be seen if he's the American saviour that he's been portrayed as. If the guy can't deliver all the change that he's promised, then we won't hesitate to point that out."

Wasn't hilarious but well worth the watch. The announcement at the Sharks game is the good old Chaser that we love to see. More stuff like that!
