Either way, it appears the game DID get released, and nobody noticed! San Diego just didn't let the word out. :p

Yes, I posted it in Chillout hoping for a translation. It's actually a Japanese food market, but they have a section for international software. I thought it was Japanese, but was told it was Chinese by a friend who was unable to translate completely.

Yes, this genre will never be touched due to the mouse and keyboard.

Then again, I wonder what an RTS is like on the Wii? That wiimote might make things pretty easy to control. But still, you've only got a 1 or 2 buttons to play with on that one...keyboard and mouse can never be beat.

It'd definitely be a learning curve, but you may be onto something. Playing Red Alert 3 recently, it's really sort of amazing how much you can do with just a few decisive, yet fast mouse movements. I'm sure you're right and it may translate to devices like the wiimote far, far better than a standard console controller (which is the major issue here).

If it works better, I'm all for change. Too bad mouse+keyboard schemes have worked far, far better on games (especially FPSs) for years now, and are suddenly being replaced with inferior console-friendly schemes and unnecessarily bulky menus. But I'm just bitching at this point.

Yeah, good points. I guess it just depends on the context of the game situation. For instance, in a single player game, yes, regenerative health might be more of a good thing since story progression is a much easier process than if you are constantly saving and reloading your game.

It just bothers me mainly with multiplayer, and how people can be bitches and run away and hide all the time, yet still be awesome at the game because their health comes back. It doesn't kill the game experience, but those adrenaline-pumping times of having to sneak around because you have 1 health bar left are gone forever in lieu of this new trend.

Also, I would love to see an average, young gamer even ATTEMPT a Mega Man game...did you try out Mega Man 9? Released last year, an entirely new Mega Man game, but it was created exactly like the old ones. Hard as , too. Not enough hard games these days.

Didn't you post this pic in another thread at one point? Either way, it appears the game DID get released, and nobody noticed! San Diego just didn't let the word out. :p

yeah def...

i do mostly single player gaming so that is just my experience. but i do have friends that are 'awesome at halo' but have never beaten the game. which strikes me as bizarre - but i suppose its just a different approach|

I wonder what it was.. Probably just Duke Nukem 3D pirated onto a disc or something.

It seems the mainstream gamer's love for the console has penetrated the PC market as well. PC gaming is becoming more and more like console gaming by the passing year. The "Games for Windows" moniker that adorns the top of every new PC game is trying to turn the PC into a console in and of itself.

We all know that the PC is the greatest of gaming machines - a lot of people are bitching about the same things you are, and for good reason - but it's the living room accessibility of the console and ease of multiplayer (offline multiplayer, that is) that makes the console the winner to most people.

I fall into that category. :p The first Halo is my favorite; the second is pretty good too, but the third got old real quick. It's possible for somebody to be really good at any of the Halo games and suck at just about everything else - its an FPS that was built for 'everyone', and it shows. I think that's both a compliment and an insult. But hey, the series is now among the most popular in video games, so props to Bungie.

well, i presume its like every other game on the wii- :p honestly, considering the control scheme is the big selling point of the platform, the remote is a piece of crap.

There is absolutely no arguing that. Companies have gotten lazy by merely slapping Wii controls onto a port, hoping the millions that have bought Wii's will buy into it. Not me. If a company actually gave a damn, and said company attempted an RTS, there may be some hope there.

But the chances are slim at best.

i do agree that is is pretty lame, i doubt a 7 year old today would have the patience or tenacity to get anywhere in one of the original mega man games!

but at the same time, regenerative health does lend itself to enjoying a game and not worrying constantly about health percentage, finding the next med kit and constant saving vs loading.

i HATE it when i find myself saving, loading, savingloading, just to make progress in a game with a story i am supposed to be involved in|

(but i just suck at games then i guess)

I do the same thing when I can. I hate having to replay parts over again.

Ugh, I can't even imagine how terrible that would have to be.
