help with audiogalaxy

nervous
Hi everyone

Just wondering if you could help me out with a question. On my ty 56k modem with a 4 hour timeout limit with ozemail is there any way of downloading off audio galaxy and being able to resume after the 4 hour cut off? Ive been trying to get nunrg at orgasmatron but it seems in the 4 hours i can't get all the file and it is deleted from my d drive so i can't even listen to the part i downloaded. Is that the way it works? If you don't get the whole thing you get none?

Thanks

Frustrated!:nervous:

I've never actually had that problem with audiogalaxy and i'm with iPrimus with a 4 hour (now 5 hour i think) cut off. Maybe it's got to do with the new version of the Satalite program.. im not sure, but if i find the install file for my version, i'll send it to you :)

It shouldn't be deleting the file, it saves what you've got as a .temp and then resumes from there next time you connect. I have the latest version but without the gator crap but I don't think that would do it. How does your connection 'work'? I mean do you have to run a program or go to the ozemail site when you start? Because maybe it deletes stuff you download, I dunno. I've never had that kind of problem before and seeing as resuming is one of the drawcards of AG doubt it would be something in the program doing that.

Ozemail always cuts out after 4 hours to the minute. When im downloading i can see it as a temp file in my c drive directory. As soon as the line cuts out it re-dials and then goes back to the start if i re-download the set. Then if i check c drive the file is gone. Ive searched the harddrive with the filename but it doesn't find it afterwards. Im using xp as well.

I only recently downloaded the ag sat, maybe resuming isn't part of it anymore?

Oh well, i'll have to stick with d2k at least i can get it to work.

Thanks for your help.:)

Make sure u have all your shares set up properly .. sharing your C drive isn't something I would recommend....

And if my satellite is running, it will keep trying to connect to the AG network, even while I'm not connected to the net (though I access the net through a dialup connection elsewhere on my LAN).
Philby
So does it automatically re-dial?
Try turning that off and/or when you get disconnected copy the files that aren't finished into another directory before you re-connect. Then when you start AG again you can paste them back in if they get deleted. Just try leaving it connected for a min or two before you start AG, then it might be easier to tell if AG is deleting the files or something else.

You are new to AG? When you say re-download the set do you just mean starting the satellite again after you get disconnected? Thats all you have to do, you don't need to add it to the queue again or anything, just in case thats what you did.

I have win98 and have had no problems other than discovering log files that are gigabytes in size...

If nothing works I guess you can send an email to the AG people and see if they can help.
Philby
Hehe I guess it doesn't matter now that its gone and all the songs are blocked!!
