Suspekt (OPEN Records/Cairns) (http://interview.net.au/artists/Suspekt)

Suspekt is Jesse Kuch, label manager and DJ for Australian progressive, techno and minimal label Open Records.

Jesse is born and raised in Tropical North Queensland, and it was the thriving outdoor party scene in his hometown of Cairns where Jesse first encountered electronic music.
Add to this, a set on Triple J’s mixup after Joris Voorn and a long list of supports that includes some of the hottest names in global electronic music including Dousk, D-Nox, Kasey Taylor, Lutzenkirchen, Fiord, Monolake, Maetrik, Solead and many more, Jesse has definitely earned his place in the Australian progressive and techno scene.
Originally inspired by deep afternoon progressive trance and house, the Suspekt sound now sits somewhere in the grey area between techno, progressive house, tribal and tech-house – always with smooth mixing, hypnotic rhythms and forward-thinking, deep-bass grooves.

Together with his pal Woodsman, he has compiled two successful compilations – Slow-Release and Festivus – and is currently working on a third to be released in the first half of 2009, along with a swag of other digital releases by top artists as well.

With an exciting year ahead on Open Records, don’t miss this chance to catch the freshest in music from this exciting Aussie label and, at the same time, support a very worthy cause.

++++ Special News From OPEN RECORDS!

Open Records Digital 008 - SQL - Lactose EP (Featuring R.E.Z. Remix)

After taking a break for a few months over the Aussie summer festival season, Open Records are back with vengeance in 2009 with a string of stellar releases heading your way. Kicking off the year is an EP from SQL titled the Lactose EP.

SQL is Pim van Horrsen, is a fresh artist hailing from Amsterdam producing a wicked mix of techno, minimal and house with touches of progressive thrown in for good measure.

Also part of the now defunct project progressive trance project Organix, Pim is making big impressions with his solo efforts, with tracks on Echoplast, Tribal Vision, Bluetunes, Benthic, Composure, Flow and Plusquam.

He also is getting big respect and support from top DJs and artists like Luke Porter, Ramon Tapia, Mechanique, Serge Devant, DJ Slater and heaps more.

The Lactose EP features two offerings of the title track – the laid-back tech-funk of the original, and a slightly more melancholic approach from fellow Amsterdam residents R.E.Z.

Expertly mastered by Danny Bonnici (of Nubreed fame) at Liquid Mixes, Open’s first release for 2009 is sure to please any fan of quality deep progressive & techno music.

The EP's official launch will be at Intervew's Dance For Life on April 4. This will be Melbourne's first chance to catch a listen to this wicked EP, Suspekt & Woodsman's new compilation and the rest of the music Open Records has in store for us this year.
