What ever happened to house parties? You know like back in the good old days when we were young, but now we're of legal drinking age and probably don't need a chaperone. There are a lot of parties these days, but in my opinion not enough GOOD house parties. Is it too much of a throwback or something?? Is it too much to ask??? And here I thought retro was in! What happened to the days when house parties were the place to be, shindiggin in the crib?? Lol.
I really do feel though that house parties in general are underrated and/or just completely off the charts on the scale of suck. The majority of time when you DO go to one it either is a) complete , or b) underwhelmingly mediocre. Wasted potential I say, wasted potential. And I make this thread after realizing that I am not alone, and after a few colleagues and I have discussed the matter, coming to the same conclusion about this. *makes a fist shaking motion*
I'm going to a house party myself this weekend, and I'm really looking forward to it. I think it'll be a nice change from the usual (from when I DO go out these days, lol).
So onwards to the future! Show your support, go to a good house party TODAY! ^_^

House parties are so high school. The reason they were fun was because you were doing things you shouldn't do, like drinking.

Nah, I think if you have the right place and time and people it can still be a lot of fun. It doesn't have to be 'high school', as you say.
And I know I'm being a bit ridiculous in the opening there, but at least it's in character. :)
This is mainly about the appreciation of house parties. :D And I totally think there should be more.

House parties in high school were the . Nowadays though they`re few and far between. A good house party is tough to come by, but I always look forward to a break from the usual bar/club routine.

I've come to the conclusion that the ratio of house parties to club parties is inversely proportional to the population of the city. In my experience living in Montreal, Ottawa, Aurora, Toronto, and dated a girl in London for a couple of years... There are a lot more house parties in the smaller cities than the large ones.
It's simply just convenient and easy to gather friends at a club, and in Toronto and Montreal they are plenty. In Ottawa and London, there were house parties I could go to every weekend, and they were the . Of course the cleanup and dammage analysis was something we all dreaded when hosting one. So as we get in our 20s, we don't need to put up with the fuss, and we're living on our own in smaller places. Then in your 30s, you get your first townhouse or house, and the house parties start all over again, and people are more respectful not to trash your place, and clean up after themselves after they had sex on your bed while you were downstairs entertaining the guests.
