Express card option for Motu Ultralite

Hello,

I recently got my new lappy, Its a Dell Studio 17.

My desktop PC works fine with my Motu although did have some digital noise issue at the begining but now have been resolved.

Now i know vista is not to blame in this case! Vista is just a bloat in a sence but i dont mind it, will get around that.

I installed the drivers for vista 32bit and everything was recognised by vista for ultralite to work.

But im getting a conflict that i knew i was prob gonna run into.
It's the firewire chip compatability, this make running the audio card immpossable with digital spikes of impules noise.

Now my option i think is to get an express card with firewire ports, express is the new standard to PC card for laptops.

what do you rekon.

cheers peeps

As im pretty sure i cant fix this prop anyway, if it be disabling programs etc....
This way i can bypass the internal firewire, and get a firewire chip that will work with my audio card.
If that fails will just get another cheap interface to use with me lappy.
Plus would updating the firmware help to the latest?

Yes update firmware to the latest and get the new expresscard firewire card - even if it doesn't work you can always send it back. Don't about about disabling the other firwire port (built in?) as there should be no need to.
