moved last semester to dallas, and liking it so far. friendly people, nice weather (70degrees in december!) and so on. i guess its a good break from the busy and snowy toronto life.
i just need a bit of advice, maybe you can help. just turned 21 last friday and celebrated it in CARSONS. never going there again (ghetto as fuuuq). so
a) where are some neat places for non-sketchy trance/house adventures here in dallas? and b) i've been bedroom djing for the past 5 years strong and I think I can put on a show. i know every and his groupies wants to spin at the clubs here, but what do you suggest to surface the rest? a bit of advice: leave Texas if you want to find a real scene. or become a Burner/Flipsider and move to Austin.

yeah i hear summer is a rapist.. aside from that i'm sad to hear the scene is so fcked :{
is it that the people are not around, or the club scene is jacked?! my friend happens to know a club owner at some hot prog/electro place, and i'm going to try to hook up a promoter's job there! i mean to be honest, i see more big names lining up in houston. who the hell is j'oc anyway, he's just sean tyas with a different name. only person i'm excited to see is breakfast this fri night at lizard lounge, but i cant even frackin go! |

| i'm from the austin, tx area and lived in dallas for about 2 months. i hung out at the Gingerman quite a bit but not sure if it's still open. It was more of an upscale/yuppie crowd though, but they always have decent beer. the only thing i know about dallas is that they have decent hookers. just watch out for the ones that have wangs. |
