been fairly disappointed with toronto tattoo artists but i'd recommend deciding by the artist rather than the store as there can be a big difference within any given tattoo parlour between the skill level of each artist. some artists may be better at certain techniques than they are at others so visit a few places and check through their portfolios to see work they have done that is similar to what you are going for. someone who does amazing shaded back pieces might be the best tattoo artist in toronto but still may not be your best option for simple yet precise lettering. |

My buddy owns a shop out in Port Credit, Lighthouse Tattoo's, he can be pricey but very good quality tattoo's, his name is Lynk.
Heres the website to check it out:
LIGHTHOUSE TATTOOS
Edit note: LOL, first time ive actually checked out his website, it doesn't look promising, but I assure you hes very good. |

New Tribal on Queen Street. I got my tattoo there and the guy was excellent and knowledgable but he said he was leaving in a few weeks and that was November of 2006.
I haven't really been too impressed with Toronto tattoo artists either...especially for the prices they charge. |

3 of my friends and i have been going to the same guy at new tribe for the last 7 years or so. I'm very happy with the work he did and so is everyone else i've sent to him.
I really recommend him. at the very least, go in to speak with him and just get a feel of how he is. its not like you need to commit to getting tattooed just by talking to the guy.
His name was Stuart. I really dont think you'll be disappointed.

theres a few samples of his stuff on their website.

Normally I'd agree with you, BUT... it's simple text. He could get it done anywhere. Really all he needs is somewhere clean and then to pick the font and location.
No reputable tattoo shop is going to have an artist that isn't good, and it's pretty hard to up text considering they work off a stencil.
Some Reputable and CLEAN shops in Toronto are New Tribe, Way Cool Tatoo's(both downtown and uptown), Yonge St Tattoos
