Need a gaming comp. XPS vs PC

rT19
Hey,
I'm getting ready for StarCraft2 and i need a new gaming Computer..
My friend told me i should buy a Dell XPS.
I dont know much about comps... but isnt it better to buy a PC rather than a laptop? but if XPS is powerful enough to game on.. why not.

What do u guys think? XPS or a Gaming PC?
is it worth paying $3000 for a XPS laptop?

thx

The only advantages laptops have over desktops are mobility and storage convenience. If those aren't vital features, get a desktop. Otherwise you're paying at least twice the price for the same performance, if not more.

I don't know the stats of the XPS, but usually high-end gaming laptops in that price range have stats comparable to that of a 800-900$ desktop.

If you're really tayloring this system for starcraft 2, then you won't need anything near that. SC2 will probably run on a 300-400$ desktop with a geforce 6 series or above.

No. For 3K you can assemble a nicely custom case which includes 7.1 surround sound speakers. You don't get any sound on a laptop. Unless your one of those psychologically sick dogs who go on LAN parties than a laptop is more subtle :haha:

lol don't buy dell.

seeing how your in canada...go to

www.canadacomputers.com

there's on in pacific mall in scarborough...there's also a few around the GTA.

you can get pre-built PCs you can also buy all the parts that you want.

my gf bought a $800 PC from them and it runs gears of war on full detail perfectly.

it also runs assassins creed perfect too...

just not crysis.
