| Im not necessarily a fan of "survival" horror, but AvP, doom 3, condemned etc all scared the out of me, and I really enjoy the intensity of such games. then again, im really easy to scare! |

are you telling me AvP wasn't terrifying!? or condemned? even though doom was predictable as , it still gave me the willies! then again i rarely play computer games sober anymore (except FA) so that might have something with my tendency to jump in the night! :) |

I'll admit AVP made me jump. Condemed made me feel mildly uncomfortable at most.
Like I mentioned earlier, looking at dead space, I don't think I would find it a very scary experience. Obviousely, devellopers were trying to maximize scary feeling by removing all the hud and menu systems in an effort to make it as immersive as possible, but the third person perspective is completely contrary to that philosophy. I don't know about you but when I play 3rd person shooters I feel alot more detached towards the character, and the horror genre is all about attachement. Not to mention, being able to see around and behind you brings a certain sense of security that's a bit out of place. :conf: |

yeah, i definitely agree. first person is much better. but ive never really played a 3rd person horror game so i dont know how that will feel.
man, i reckon my loudest ever scream of terror came playing condemned. eek! |
