The Favorites of Xbox Live/PSN/WiiWare

CONNERMAN2000
I'm almost positive this thread has been done before, but that's always the case. For all the 360, PS3, and Wii owners...what is your favorite downloadable online games for these systems? And what new content would you like to see roll out onto these services?

I've never used Wii's online service, so I can't answer that.

For the PSN, Wipeout HD all the way. Absolutely unbelievable in the full package you get when you buy this game. For the price its at, its a steal. Read the Wipeout HD thread if you want to hear more praise.

As for Live, well, I have to say it, the original Geometry Wars still hooks me. Every single time. I feel its sequel was toned down, probably because it allowed for 4 player co-op, so the game obviously would need to be less intense or else nobody would have any idea what the is going on.

Both of these services have plenty of other good out there, like Warhawk, Braid, Castlevania, Bomberman, etc...what has you intrigued these days...

Braid. It's amazing and everyone should play it.

That game blew my mind. Definitely one of the best Live has to offer.

Hell, I may as well turn this into an update thread regarding new content on these platforms.

Anyone remember the arcade racing game GTi Club? It was way more popular in Europe, however I DO remember it hitting my Brunswick Zone way back in the 90's. It's coming to the PSN.

And Quake III Arena is making it's way to Xbox Live, hopefully by the end of the year, dubbed 'Quake Arena Arcade' Fans of the PC version may wanna check it out.

Feel free to post any bull you guys hear of regarding Live/PSN/WiiConnect

I just got onto Live last week on my 360 so I'm a little behind I'm sure but so far, I'm really loving Geometry Wars Evolved. A friend of mine with a PS3 showed me Super Stardust HD and that was enough for me to want a PS3. Those types of games just do it for me.

I will have to check out Braid.

I've fallen in love with those types of games, too. I bought Geo Wars nearly TWO years ago, and I STILL play it on a regular basis. Even if the game has no bosses, only 6 enemy types, only 2 weapons, and no real objective except to just stay alive, I don't give a , the game is beautiful and is so fluid that I'll never tire of it.

Geo Wars 2 is way more expanded, with 6 game modes AND multiplayer co-op. Very cool, but I'll be honest, there's just something about the original that I like more. It seems the sequel was slightly toned down due to the inclusion of co-op (imagine co-op in Geo Wars 1, it would be too chaotic to the point that you would have no idea where you were), so I think that might be why. Or maybe its just the undeniable simplicity behind it all...the fact that the game is nothing more than Asteroids on speed and acid.

Super Stardust may technically be better, if only because the game has a lot more offer, I'm still partial towards Geo Wars. Don't get me wrong, Stardust is unreal, and the game is hypnotically gorgeous...on an HDTV, your eyes will never be the same. And I mean that in a good way.

You should also give Assualt Heroes a go on Xbox Live Arcade. It features the exact same control scheme as Geo Wars, and the game is much longer and more epic.

And Braid is, indeed, full of win. Check that out as soon as possible. Some reviewers claim its one of the greatest games ever made. Not just on XBLA...I mean One. Of. The. Greatest. Games. Ever.
