Sadly this is not getting that great reviews from gamers as was expected.
While the journo reviews put it at like 9/10, the general rating from people actually playing the game for a decent amount of time is about 7/10.
Seems like a fun game but can get old quick and it's much more limited than was first thought. I'm going to wait until it goes down in price majorly.
I'm more excited about Sims 3 :happy2: |

Sorry Rob :p
To be honest I haven't even gotten to the tribal phase yet, but my favorite part is the cell! The post above mine pretty much sums it up for me minus the complaint about evolution.
And yes, that video is from 2005, and is exactly what the game is like.
LOL! @ the crazy people :stongue: |

| Saw a review about it some days ago, 9/10. Looked pretty interesting, might even have to buy me a copy. :) |

I played it in one sitting to the space age. It's an ok game. Not like I was thinking about. I found it disappointing that how you design your creature, cell, buildings, etc, doesn't actually have an effect on how well they perform. The only thing that matters is the type of mouth and feet and legs and stuff, but the effect is the same if its on the creature's ass or on a normal place.
Space age is annoying. It's hard and confusing.
edit: It's more of a toy than a game. |

Spore fills me with overwhelming feelings of "meh".
Sure it looks like fun to play with on the surface, but everything about this game tells me it doesn't have nearly enough depth to keep me entertained for more than an afternoon or two at best. I applaud the initiative of attempting something original in an age where video games are all generic clones of eachother, but overall it just seems like the game is trying to be a little too holistic for it's own good. I just can't excuse spending any money on it. Oh well.
My hope is that if this is successful, it might encourage devellopers to finally start trying different things. |

So basically the hacked version of "Spore: Origins" I have on my iPod touch is good enough?
:p
Saving my money for Fallout 3, I guess. Between TFU and that, I'm sure I'll have plenty to play. |

Did you finish the last level? It's an absolute pain in the ass. I might try and beat it today. |

This is pretty much what I thought at first seeing it, (or the space stage anyway). Gee, now its out... and it looks marginally worse. Unless the space age diplomacy is very deep and at least as good as eu3 vanilla the game will end up being really dull. |
