Got this idea from the mention of Grim Fandango in the Psychonauts thread.
I grew up on these games, which all used modified versions of the SCUMM engine.
These games were known for their great graphics, story, and challenge. a lot of them were hilarious too.
My favorites would have to be:
The Secret of Monkey Island (1-4)
Full Throttle (can't tell you how many times I've played through it).
Dark horse candidate would be "The Dig." It should have been a movie and almost was. |

| I've never really played through any adventure games of any sort, and on top of that, I find that all of the ones I've tried are a complete bore. Everyone else loves them, but I need more violence and mayhem. :p |

| full throttle was fun, the ending was a bit bogus since you had to *guess* that you could get something you couldnt see from off screen to save yourself| |

| Yeah, not a fan of adventure games either. At least none that were made in or after the 90s. |

Had it on Mac too, but on floppy, not CD so there were no voice overs.
That game was pretty epic in scope considering when it was made, with the 3 branching paths and stuff. |
