Favors

i can't stand when someone does a "favor" for you, but on their terms and with an attitude like, "hey, i'm doing you a favor". it's like why bother. the whole point of a favor is to do something selfless and usually something that is interfering with your life in some way, but you do it because you don't mind because you like the person who is asking...or something like that.
anyone agree? or are you that who says, "sure i'll give you a ride to work tomorrow" but you show up when it's convenient for you and don't really give a rat's ass that they are late for work? |

Are you talking about people who do favors in order to gain points in future arguments?
Then when the person gets mad at you, they say, "I did [x] and [y] and [z] for you, you piece of !"
 |

no but those ppl piss me off too.
i was just talking about people who agree to do a favor for you or they offer assistance, but they aren't really sensitive to your needs re: the favor. they just do it but on their terms. i don't really know how else to explain it. but it's like they aren't really doing u a favor if they the favor up. |

YES. I hate that . It happens to me with my work all the time... clients don't appreciate the fact that I'm already doing them a favor by giving them faster and better service in my respecive field than they could get from anyone else, but they always ask for me to do juuuuust a little bit more, even if they know it will cost me more time and expense to do it. They'll ask me to customize my reports here and there until they are to their satisfaction, even though I know it won't make a bit of difference, and even though they aren't the goddamn professional. I can't tell them to off because I have to keep our reputation squeeky clean.
When it comes to actual people I know, especially friends, I never ask for favors unless it's an absolute desperate last resort to do so. I'd just rather not have any potential situations hovering over my head that could lead to problems in the future. |
