After an amazing Third Birthday Celebration, Tickled Pink is back on August 15 with The Cook & The Chef & Gavin Martin adding some flavour to the TP recipe!
Not to be confused with the TV variety, The Cook & The Chef are Scott Toukhsati & Travis Welch. Seamless sets of tech-house, minimal, progressive, electronica & anything with an intelligent edge that works into their unique sound, have gained the notice of major club & festival promoters alike over the last 3 years.
Formed in 2005 through a mutual passion for food & music, the duo have ventured far beyond the kitchen, having played funk fuelled sets at such major events as Rainbow Serpent, Maitreya, Namaste, LAB & many more.
Gavin Martin has been Dj’ing since 1996 and in that time he has managed to find his way onto the line-up at all the major events & festivals in Melbourne, as well as extensively interstate & overseas. His music style is diverse, blending elements of deep evolving progressive, techno & house.
In the late 90's Gavin began to gain main room spots at all of the big events in Melbourne, such as Two Tribes, Gatecrasher, Welcome and Renaissance, playing alongside and warming up for many big names, like Digweed, Dave Seamen, Sander Kleinenberg & Anthony Pappa among others. Together with Green Ant, he put on Melbourne's infamous Substance, In 2003 became resident at Private Function and has been a resident & representative DJ for Melbourne's world renowned Rainbow Serpent Festival for the past 8 years.
Gavin has also signed his own tracks to labels such as Vapour, System, Segment and Resurgent with plenty more releases on the way on Open Records and more.
These guys are joining Danni B, Nadine, Sass & Nugget in the main room at La Di Da from 10pm!!
Friday 15 August @ La Di Da (Main Room)
