| finnnnnaaaallllyyyyy! should have gone in 4.. they were a far superior team. I'm glad they finally beat the weasels! I feel osgood should have maybe gotten the conn smythe with a 1.5ga and two shutouts, but I'm fine with zets! |

ossie made some decent saves, but put him on any other team, and yeah maybe he's a starter now but come on, detroit made pittsburgh look stupid. heck pitts looked dumb against philly but managed to beat them only because philly was drained after having to edge both washington and montreal, whereas pitts coasted by ottawa and nyr.
detroit is the superior team, right now, but ossie doesn't deserve the conn. his stats speak volumes, but the team he had in front of him, including zetts, hell you could have dan cloutier in net for detroit and they still would have won the cup.
pitts did give detroit trouble at times, ie game 5. even game 6 they had detroit fans thinking uh oh, in the 3rd period after dominating pitts in shots, chances and overall play for 90% of the series. |
