Playing old-school PC games

CONNERMAN2000
Now I'm aware of the existence of DOS emulators, but I thought I should ask what is the best one out there.

Also, please tell me how to use it, I have forgotten a lot of how you work DOS and what not, so some additional instruction as to what the I'm supposed to do would be much appreciated.

I found a stack of these games I remember buying back in grade school, I think they are an offspring of the D&D franchise. I've never played the card game, but some of these titles are fun even by today's standards (mostly turn based bull, but its good stuff) and I wanted to see if it was possible to play them in their full out glory (the sound doesnt work because the sound cards compatible with the game are ancient, ec.)

And you dont even have to remember how to use dos. Just install a frontend (links are on the site under tools, chose whichever one you wish, as for myself, im using the one called dosbox game launcher) and it will do everything for you. Open it up chose a game for which you wish to create a profile for, and it will set up everything itself. Then just click on the name of the game and you're playing it.

Enjoy your classic gaming experience. Because even to someone who is not an old fart like me, classic games are better.

Awesome stuff guys, I appreciate the input. I'm not at my personal computer right now, so unfortunetaly I cannot put this knowledge to use.

And yes, Dinopark Tycoon is a harrrrrrrrrd game. We had it at my grade school, and we got to play it whenever we were done with all of our classroom bull. I remember things going great, crowds coming by the hundreds and new dino's constantly. Then all of a sudden, I somehow go broke, the dino's break out of their cages and start eating people, and the park is forced to close! I always lost...

I think it has something to do with the nostalgia effect; you had such a good time with the classics back in the day that they will always remain a good time. And, beyond that, I would still agree with your statement, because nowadays companies are more concerned with showing off system capabilities rather than creating some fascinating gameplay.
