I have to say the last show that actually really grabbed me was Sander K WMC 2007. Roger Sanchez when he was at Destiny had the place through the roof. But then again i really havent seen him not. Im definitely not interested in JP but Serge Devant ... ive seen him play once at nikki beach wmc 2007 and it was pretty decent. I wonder how hes going to be here in orlando. The people here are really into him from the sounds of it. |
Serge Devant is ok.
He's pretty big in NY but after seeing him twice I feel that was one time too many.Again, I'd like to say that I'm very picky. Its just like you said in these days of similar sounding dj's spinning very much the same music. I tend to search for dj's doing something diffrent. Or at the very least formatting there set diffrently.I guess this is why I'm as I have always been a techno kid at heart. It just seems that the techno/minimal djs have so much new music that sounds very alien.Aswell as putting the newest technology to good use (UNLIKE JP)lol.Another thing I like about minimal techno is that there is a versatility within the genre as the good djs sound very diffrent from the next.I mean you know when your listening to a Hawtin set compared to a Dear set. Love it or hate it the minimal genre is best suited for exploring diffrent sounds and introducing fresh new ideas.
I mean dont get me wrong I love some dirty electro when its done right, but having dj.XYZ drop a remix of an older track with a cheesy electro bassline doesnt do it for me anymore. Cedric Gervais killed that sound for me long ago.lol |
