I grew up in Boston and have to say the scene is really in and out. The only clubs worth mentioning, I think, are Rise and the Good Life. Rise is the only afterhours in Boston, and is open from 1:30-7am usually. Its too bad you are missing Danny Howells, he is there the weekend after. Check out riseclub.us for more listings.

The Good Life is a nice little after-work bar/small club in the chinatown/downtown area. Pete Moss, Jay Tripwire, and lots of other great house acts have all played there. Check it out at www.goodlifebar.com

I wouldn't venture into the Estate unless its an act you really want to see. The bouncers are ing s, I've gotten there at 10:59 when the list closes at 11pm and they have made me pay full cover. They are also sticklers about dress code, and basically abuse what little power they have. Its like Avalon part 2, except Avalon had a much better sound system and a slightly less trendy crowd. All in all, the scene in Boston wavers a lot because college kids, the main consumer demographic in Boston, don't want to shake their booty to house music, just hip hop really. As such I've seen a lot of great nights fail over the years because the numbers just aren't there.

But you can't go wrong with Rise, the Good Life, or the Phoenix Landing (over in Cambridge) on a good night. Check out the NY forum for more events too.
