Movie stars and motion picture - and the fans who adored them - existed well before the first Academy Awards celebreation. Likewise, long before periodicals like URB and BPM Culture began sponsoring annual surveys of the world's favourite DJs, the people had already spoken, loud and clear, infavour of Dj DAN. From his origins in the early 90's Los Angeles rave scene, to his non-stop international agenda today (he traveled 135,000 miles in 2005 alone), Dan continues to thrill audiences where ever he goes, from Sydney to Shanghai, Taiwan to Toronto and of course all across USA.
"One thing a lot of people have said is that I'm consistant" Dan observes "In my programming, my mixing, and the way I play to the party." When artists and labels want to be sure their records get heard by discerning listeners, they bring them to DAN - and when clubs and promoters want a headline act that who is guaranteed to satisfy their patrons, he is the one they call. No wonder Dj DAN has been dubbed both "The Hardest Working Dj In America" and "The Peoples Dj" by different publications over the years. Ranked #68 on DJMag.com’s Top 100 DJs List in 2005, Donald skyrocketed to #48 this year and his genius keeps on growing…
Before Donald few DJs had attempted to spin house records. Donald’s fine ear helped him give birth to a new style. After mastering his craft, Donald began DJing in various clubs around Tacoma and Seattle. During that time he made several important connections which would launch his music to the forefront of what was quickly becoming one of the largest underground movements since New Wave in the late-70s. Perhaps the greatest connection Donald made was with another aspiring DJ and friend, DJ Dan.
Together Donald & DJ Dan sparked the rave scene in Seattle and developed large followings. Knowing that Donald possessed an energy and ability to work the crowd that was unparalleled to anyone else on the circuit, Dan convinced San Francisco’s legendary Funky Tekno Tribe to bring down his good friend Donald to play at one of their parties. Donald’s talents quickly made him a permanent fixture on F.T.T.’s roster.
