im going to add that the place was taken over by yuppie hordes groping their girlfriends whom they i presume they impressed with bottle service. lack of unattached females at the majority of house parties these days upsets me. i know it's all about the music. but check this... at about four or five last house parties i got either nowhere or a dead-end phone number. but the one time i go to a brazilian party at SOB's i hook up with a stranger (who wasn't even brazilian).
something to ponder

OK, Mr. Buzzkill to the rescue:

LOL, i was there with my girlfriend, so I guess that's my bad that you didn't get her digits. Sorry that you're the only one who can't find a girl.

I didn't notice the proportion of singles to couples, but the crowd wasn't really that impressive. One couple in particular entertained me, though, both in their early 30s and insisted upon making out with one in front and the other in back (switching all the time), over the shoulder. It looked like it would be really uncomfortable to do all night as they were. It was fairly empty compared to Cielo's usual crowd (the whole right side was completely vacant) and there was no line at all when we arrived and usually there are 50-100 people in line.

Anyhow, we got there at about 12:15-30 and I was unimpressed with the set. We didn't stay until the end, which is unusual when we got to Cielo since it closes early, but I will say that it got better near the end of the set. I thought it was just because I was getting more drunk, though. I thought the mixes were kind of shoddy, plus there was absolutely no flow to the set. Early on, there was way too much "Miami house," with a sprinkling of the darker tracks that I like (the ones that Sasha & Digweed have been playing).

All and all the 5 of us who went had a great time. I think the member of 16 Bit who played was Steve??? Anyway he banged it out with the techno a lot more then I was expecting, but it was still very good. Set had a nice flow but track of the night had to be Tim Davidson's- Superstar DJ

The mixing was avg. at best...not wrecking but nothing all that creative. Minute in....Minute out. As for the crowd I think 1/2 were there for the music and the other 1/2 was just drunk dudes trying to pick up drunk girls who did not know why they were there. I come to expect a little better from Cielo's crowds but nothing that took away from a good night of music with some friends.
