Lick Trance Anthems [Editorial Review]

Big, mainroom trance makes a triumphant return as Lick dust off their collective record collections.

Editorial Review
Trance music defined clubbing in the late ‘90s and early millennium. DJs like Tiesto, Paul van Dyk and Armin Van Buuren became international stars, and you basically couldn't walk into a nightclub anywhere in the world without hearing big melodic synth sounds. While the genres popularity isn't what it once was, trance is still one of the most popular forms of club music out around and enjoys a huge back-catalogue of classic tunes. Just walk into any record shop and you'll find shelf after shelf of compilations and mix CDs.

Hoping to revive some of those classic tunes and vintage memories, Lick presents a night of trance anthems. Featuring a host of local DJs, you can expect some serious hands in the air action as they dust off everything from the proto-trance of the early ‘90s (Age of Love, KLF, Jam and Spoon) through to the all conquering output of Paul Oakenfold and later MOS releases.

The local DJs all have their roots in trance and have been pushing the genre since the mid ‘90s, so they're bound to have some obscure gems hidden away in their crates. Anyways, if you want to hear all those classic melodic sweeps and bass lines again you know where to go.
