-->> PETEONE - "XII" break the silence <<--

ok here goes. i listened to the mix in the morning, afternoon and in the evening. the days on which i did listen were all really good chicago days.

So i feel this mix fits way better for an evening setting. definately danceable, and its not too much peak hour stuff going on which is good. ifor this type of mix id say it has a fine groove from beginning to end. since this isnt the sound im usually into i had to listen to it multiple times and the mix DEFINATELY grew on me. at first i was like " ok...mmmhmm... kool " then i listened closer to notice the bits and pieces pete added and then i started to like it more and appreciate it more. now im like " yeeea... uh uh... oh yea. " hahah.

what i found to be the highlight of the track would be the quuiver track. idk if pete added things to this or if its a different remix but i did enjoy it alot. my head started boppin at that song. i was like ' yeeeeaaaa! '

the vocals i really enjoyed aswell. these kind of vocals are stuff i really started getting into recently. pete had good timing on introducing me to this mix. maybe my taste is maturing and expanding but the vocals are pretty sick.

there really isnt much i didnt like but like i mentioned before this mix had to grow on me.

pete told me he did edits on pretty much all the tracks and i didnt notice n e thing outta place and i felt the entire mix flowed really well with the additions he put into it.

overall id rate this mix an B+ or A-

would i refer this to a friend ? Hell yea. would i play this mix for some guests during a get together ? when the mood is right. so hell yea pete. i enjoyed the mix. i really did and all this is MY honest opinion. good job bro,

your salvadorian texas homeboy,

Track selection is so-so and mixing is ok but PeteOne is the absolute king of interesting intros. I like how you really made this mix your own, you have a distinct style and a unique approach at DJing. It's not really something I can listen to all the time but you can tell a lot of hard work and effort was put into compiling this. The massacred remix of St. Germain was the absolute low-point for me, it just dragged on and on. I would say the mix really starts to pick up after the 30 minute mark when the Lutzenkirchen Remix of Quivver comes in, one of my personal favorite tracks to drop lately. The whole set has a really chunky funky groove to it, would get a dancefloor moving.

great review thank you so much i love the constructive criticism.
Just fyi the st.germain track is 14 minutes long it is mixed along with 3 different tracks on this mix (1 in + 2 out) that's why it drags so long.
I didn't want to reedit the whole track and was trying to find a way to mix it in in a interesting way. ;-).

I understand it is not the music genre that you enjoy the most, altho I'm really glad that you spend a time to listen to the whole thing.

This mix is not for everyone some people will hate it and that's ok too :D

thanks tony
