Tornadoes, yo

sharper
so i go to see jayson play at july alley in deep ellum last night, then the entourage wanted to hit up lower greenville right afterwards. About 3am, it starts sprinkling and the wind is pretty hard, so we head home.
we are sitting in my apartment, watching tv, and see that this storm coming is going to be bad. the tornado sirens start going off, then the power shuts off. We hear some questionable noises of a tornado. jayson grabs the dogs and we shove all 4 of us in my tiny bathroom. I can't tell you how hot it gets in that small bathroom with no AC and candles lighting it up. We thought we were in the clear, so we go to sleep with no AC, or fan - freaking hot as hell all night.
I wake up early to the sound of helicopters that circled around and would not shut up. So we get up and investigate. My apt complex got hit by either some crazy ass winds or a tornado. There are shingles everywhere and trees down. We drove around to see the other side of the complex had all the chimneys knocked off of the roof. They were just all over the ground, some fell on the covered parking areas, knocking down those down on top of the cars. We went to the apt complex down the road, and they had the whole roof ripped in huge holes and many chimneys fell off of the buildings and onto cars below.
Finally my power is back on - yay!
But I could have died, yal, for reals.

1st it is good to know you are alright; 2nd those storms that rolled through were very intense, to bad none of them hit here because I live for storms, lightning and the occasional tornado, but if there is hail, fuk that!!!! Something about 1.5 - 2 inchs size balls of ice flying @ 100-120mphs towards my body that really scares the living hell out of me you know.

Next time an event like this happens, get a camera and take video!!! You might end up with something like this:
