THE AGAINST THE GRAIN LABEL TOUR!
It’s been almost a year now and we’re happy to announce the return of Breakspoll’s 3-time Best DJ winner:

KRAFTY KUTS, UK – www.myspace.com/djkraftykuts.com / www.kraftykuts.com
Breaks – Against the Grain / Finger ‘Lickin Records

There’s little else to say about the skills of party-pleasing breakbeat don and genre pioneer Krafty Kuts that breaks fans and electronic music journalists the globe over haven’t already attested to. His countless successful releases on labels including Finger Lickin’ Records, Southern Fried Records (Fat Boy Slim’s label), FSUK, his two co-owned stables Super Charged and Against The Grain, the latter imprint hosting his most recent solo LP, ‘Freakshow,’ featuring the likes of Dynamite MC, The Scratch Perverts and A Skillz, just lay the groundwork for his seminal live sets. Follow that with his remix production of some of the biggest names in the game, including Jurassic 5, Utah Saints, Arthur Baker, Eric B & Rakim and Afrika Bambaata, and you see where each step-up is heading. This is a man who can waltz into any already blazing dancefloor, in any club, in any town, in any country and take it up a few degrees… to say the least.
There are few artists that have so affected the genre of music in which they produce. Krafty Kuts is easily the most constantly prolific and significant contributor to Breakbeat and his continual support from breaks punters to purveyors like his three years as the ‘Breakspoll Best DJ’, ‘ADMA Best International DJ’, ‘Face of Breaks Best DJ’ and other similar awards continue to cement his king spin position within the genre’s ever growing talent base. And within his own framework, he has been pushing the genre since its inception, taking trends and influences from all walks of music to create a multi-faceted musical soundscape that is as easily accessible for several thousands at a festival, to just a lone lover of the field.
The last he was in Vancouver was July of 2007 for a sold out show at The Shark Club… we can think of no better venue to host him at – and we know he’s coming armed with never before heard tunage or as he calls them… “MONSTAZ!”
Along with Electro Breaks and Miami Bass maestro…

DEEKLINE, UK - www.myspace.com/djdeekline / www.djdeekline.com
Breaks / Electro / Miami Bass – Against the Grain / Rat Records
DJ Deekline makes up one half of the dancefloor-destroying duo that is Deekline and Wizard (aka. Nick Annand and Greg Fleming). Deekline started collecting records as a youngster, inspired by funk and electro, before becoming interested in hardcore and jungle; which led to him being at the forefront of breakbeat culture from the beginning. He has become an iconic name within the breakbeat, Miami bass and dance scene, creating his own unique sound of breakbeat, with a more funky and electro twist, and more recently incorporating a Miami bass style.
Deekline has made a name for himself as a highly skilled DJ and producer being responsible for tunes like "Don’t Smoke The Reefer", an official remix of Old Dirty Bastards’ "Got Your Money" and "Every Posse & Crew" (with FreQ Nasty) rocketing into the dance charts in the UK and earning Nick maximum kudos in the breaks, garage and 2-step scenes and not to mention his Rat Records label which is gaining momentum in the breakbeat scene for its attention to high quality breakbeat releases.
Over the past 6 years Deekline has been playing in every major city throughout the globe, from Sofia to Sydney, and Frankfurt to Tokyo.
Deekline can credit himself with tours of America, Europe, and Australia, with more tour dates to follow in 2008. Not only this, Deekline also the founder of the record label ‘Rat Records’ which to date has put out more than 25 successful releases.
Deekline also runs various club nights, mainly in London, including Bounce at Bar Rhumba, which is now infamous as the UK’s no.1 booty bouncing event. Furthermore, he has worked with everyone from Top Cat to Skinny man, as well as all the major names in the breakbeat scene; Freestyles, Arthur Baker, Stanton Warriors, just to name but a few. His remixes span everyone from Armand Van Heldon, Old Dirty Bastard, Stereo Mcs, and Freesylers. His last track ‘Fame & The Money’ (which was made under the Booty Bouncer title with Wizard) was play listed on MTV .
In addition to his music, business and record label, Deekline also has a soft spot for pairs and blondes and would one day like to create his own blondes with big pairs machine! Deekline’s drive behind the creation of this scene is to make music that girls just want to wiggle too and has worked out that he has the most excellent view from the turntables to witness such acts.
2007 was hugely successful for Deekline and his DJ/production partner Wizard, and 2008 is well on its way to being no different!!!

DEEKLINE & WIZARD'S NEW ALBUM!
Supercharged Music & Against the Grain
Against The Grain are pleased to announce the exclusive signing of super sharp breaks producers, Deekline & Wizard. "We're incredibly pleased to have the guys on board" says label boss Krafty Kuts, "In my mind they are undoubtedly the numero uno breaks duo on the planet and this stunning new album deserves to launch Deekline & Wizard up their with Basement Jaxx and the Chemical Brothers". Not an unrealistic task considering Wizard has written and engineered for Chemical Brothers, MIA, Roll Deep and Lady Sovereign to name a few and Deekline has previously enjoyed a top ten hit the garage-breaks anthem 'Don't Smoke The Reefa'. All this along with Against The Grain's successful track record with the Freestylers and Krafty Kuts ensures this project will go off with a boom blast!
'Dancehall Thrilla' is the first single taken from Deekline & Wizard's new album and is an insight into the lengths in which these guys are prepared to go in order to establish a unique sound. With orchestra's recorded in Eastern Europe and no less then three of London's hottest vocalists including Navigator of Freestylers fame, Yolanda of Bugz In The Attic success and the hot new show stopper Hadouken, we are are starting to build a picture of a very special project indeed.
Flip to track 2 and you will hear another immensely strong club record entitled 'Up For The Possee'. This time we have Top Cat laying down vocals over a thumping bassline-house smasher, which rounds up this incredibly strong first release.
2008 is going to see the release of eagerly awaited album number 2 for the boys and will include vocals from vocalists such as Yolanda, Top Cat, DJ Assualt, Tenor Fly, Wiley and Ivory Together with their “Bootybouncers” alter ego encompassing D&W production with UK grime & Bass/Electro the future looks bright for the booty-loving duo. |
