| I really enjoyed it! I saw him at Bonnaroo on the 14th and his set was a lot different. His mixing and set overall was top notch although I did like his Bonnaroo set better. I just didn't like how they roped off the elevated front stage. It was way too crowded for that. |

Yeah, I meant to mention that. Considering that Opera usually open the stage to us plebs during these packed events, as they did for AVB, it's dumb that they'd reserve it for VIP during the Tiësto event, especially since the VIP area was so empty compared to other nights. Maybe that's good for revenue, but they should be able to create incentives for the overpriced VIP lounge without making everyone else miserable, right? |

Yeah, sorry -- you won't hear a whole lot of consolation here. :P |
It's ok. LOL. Just trying to make myself feel better. Are u really going to be spinning a trance set Sunday? If so, I may have to come check that out.

yeah i couldn't believe it either, but i did get my money's worth in alcohol, haha. and to be honest, since i had the money to spend, it was nice to not get elbowed every other beat or have to wait in line for 10 minutes for a drink... i could just chill, listen to the music, dance, and have fun.
some bracelets were $275 though...now THAT was ridiculous! |
I don't know, maybe 100 would be worth it for the comfortable experience, but 275, no way. Was that up by the dj booth or the area across from it?
Anyways, sounds like it was a pretty good show besides being pretty crowded. Sounds like he probably played a lot of stuff I may not be familiar with, but he usually does a good job with track selection. Almost the whole ISOS 7 album was tracks I had never heard before. |

Well, it's a mini-set -- on open turntables night, everyone who signs up (or just shows up) gets a chance to spin for about 15-35 minutes, depending on how many attend. My "set" always consists of trance, whereas most of the others play other flavors of EDM. I believe Doug Theodore also brought some trance to the Last Sunday event a couple months ago. It's a good opportunity to enjoy a variety of tastes. Greg hasn't posted an announcement yet, but I'm assuming we'll have another event this Sunday?
(Sorry for the brief thread derail, heh. Uh, to segue back toward the topic: Maybe someone else could bring some ISOS7 tracks to Midcity in the hopes of reliving last night's fine experience? ... Minus the massive crowds, deafening sound system, and glowsticks.) |

100 was for the back, across the way... 275 was so that you could be "15 feet from Tiesto" as they tried to entice me to upgrade... lol. like i give a $hit how close i am to him, especially considering how many times i've seen him before and at much cooler/exciting venues.
i hate when small places try and rape their customers and detract from the experience. |
